Annual Report

Umpqua Community Health Center (UCHC) provides a wide range of medical and dental services at six locations. The main clinic, on Kenneth Ford Drive in Roseburg, is supported by satellite clinics in the communities of Myrtle Creek, Glide and Drain, as well as the Teen Health Centers on the Roseburg and Douglas High School campuses.

  • In 2011, 30,663 medical and dental visits were provided to 8,351 individual patients. More than 25% of these patients were children.
  • In 2011, Federal funding in the form of this annual grant from the Bureau of Primary Health Care represented 31% of the total budget. Grants from local foundations, the Greater Douglas United Way, and private donations represented 8% of the budget.
  • The remaining 61% is from the delivery of our medical and dental services. Reimbursement from insurance companies and contracts to provide care contribute to the revenue as well.
  • The most significant revenue stream is the discounted fees that our patients pay for their care. The majority of our patients are uninsured and work for low wages.
  • In 2011, approximately $1,000,000 in discounts and free care was provided for low income, uninsured patients.
  • The funds that were collected from the patients for these services is a significant contribution to the annual budget. Along with fees paid from insurance companies and Medicare/Medicaid these patient payments enable UCHC to provide a tremendous amount of health care at reasonable costs that people can afford.
  • UCHC makes a significant economic impact by purchasing operational goods and services through the employment of professional and support staff.
